Taylor & Ryan live on a Farm in the foothills of the Rockies. They have sheep, pigs, chickens, and the sweetest pup named Moose. On our introductory call, they explained how they love their little farm where they’ve spent years nurturing the land, their animals and their relationship. So when they said they wanted to have their engagement photos done there, I was all in. There’s no doubt about it, this snowy farm engagement session was the most unique shoot I’ve ever done.
When I pulled up to Taylor & Ryan’s Farm, I was stunned. It was more beautiful than I could have anticipated. Their pup Moose greeted me with a wagging tail and the sheep gathered around the fence to see what the ruckus was about. The Farm was nestled in a valley surrounded by the foothills of the Rockies. Ryan’s trusty old Chevy sat parked in the driveway and the smell of hay permeated the air. This place felt like a home.
We chatted and walked around the property, taking photos with all of their labors of love — their sheep, Moose the dog, the old Chevy and their newest member of the family, a baby Lamb named Jeffrey. We finished the session in their open pasture which was covered in a light dusting of snow. The sun set perfectly behind the mountain behind the Farm giving them a nice golden glow to their photos. I was in heaven.
Taylor & Ryan, you two are such a joy. Your love for the land, your animals and each other is palpable and so organic (no pun intended). I absolutely love how these snowy farm engagement session photos turned out and I hope you do too. I cannot wait to capture your wedding later this year. If it’s anything like this session, I know it’s going to be incredible.
