You might remember Grace & Sean from this romantic and editorial engagement session in the mountains. I mentioned in that blog post that this couple was married in July of 2020, before their “engagement” session just because of timing constraints. Well, I am finally getting around to blogging their beautiful Summer Red Rocks Wedding!
Grace and Sean married in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends at a Historic Chapel in Morrison, Colorado. They celebrated their nuptials right afterward at Arrowhead Golf Club among the beautiful Colorado Red Rocks.
What I loved about this wedding was the true intimacy exuded. Their family was so involved in putting the day together and I loved how much of a labor of love it felt like. Grace and Sean’s family had roles in arranging their florals, building the circular altarpiece, and even doing Grace’s hair and makeup. There was something so special about their loved ones not only supporting them with their presence, but also with their time and talents.
Another part of the day that my photographer’s heart loved was their sunset portrait time. Once we arrived to Arrowhead, I was able to steal the couple away and adventure through the beautiful landscapes with them. Stunning red rocks, mountains, greenery and even a mirror-like pond made this venue the perfect place for wedding portraits. I highly recommend this gorgeous venue to any couples looking to get married in Colorado.
I mentioned in their engagement session post that this couple knows how to dress. This was no less true on their wedding day. Grace wore a stunning lace, form-fitting gown with a chapel fingertip veil for the ceremony. She changed into a more modern, sleek, crepe gown for the reception. I can’t decide which look I like more — she was simply gorgeous in both! Sean wore a light blue suit with a light pink tie to match the bridesmaids dresses. The colors were perfect in the soft, summer light and against those Colorado red rocks.
Grace and Sean, I feel so honored to have captured your wedding day. It was my first ever wedding in Colorado and will always hold such a special place in my heart. You are such a beautiful couple — on the outside as well as on the inside. It was an absolute pleasure to serve you. I hope you love looking back on your wedding day through these photos as much as I loved witnessing it with my own eyes. God bless you both and your life together!
