Aspen is a special place for Lucie + John. It’s where they first met. It’s where they got married. It’s where they started their family. So there was no doubt about where they’d have their Family Session session — on the top of Ajax Mountain overlooking the place that means so much to them.
Lucie is from France. She came to the US to study law in California. One weekend she decided to visit some of her friends in Colorado. That’s when she met John.
John is from “all over.” He lived in Germany, Texas, and several other states growing up. So when he ended up in Aspen for a new job, it was just another place to live. But all of that changed when he met Lucie.
So it would seem that at first, Aspen was a chance place for these two people. A tourist destination for Lucie and yet another temporary home for John. Until that evening that they met at a concert at Belly Up, and all of the chance turned into a future.
The two were married last year, welcomed their daughter Lillia in the beginning of this year and planned to travel to France this September to celebrate with Lucie’s family. Of course, with COVID-19 on the scene, this was out of the question. Lucie still wanted to celebrate! So she surprised John with this sweet session overlooking the place where they’ve built their life together.
Lucie + John, I can’t tell you how much of a joy it was to spend the evening with you for your Aspen Mountain Family Session. I loved off-roading all over the mountain, making little Lillia giggle for the camera, and getting to hear more of your story. You’re family is just as beautiful inside as it is out. I hope to see you again soon!
