This couple. Their outfits. This place! It all came together to make for the perfect Fall Brainard Lake Engagement session. Just wait until you see these photos.

Grace + Sean were actually married this past July. I photographed their intimate wedding ceremony in a Historic Chapel in Morrison, CO and their reception at Arrowhead Golf Club after. Both locations were nestled in Colorado Red Rocks, so you can imagine the surroundings were stunning. The wedding was beautiful, understated, full of joy, and my first wedding here in Colorado — so it will always hold a special place in my heart. With the onslaught of COVID-19, the couple didn’t have time in between their hurried planning to squeeze in an Engagement Session — but I assured them we could always have one after the fact. And man, am I so glad we did.

This couple is pure class. They have an eye for elegance and sophistication that makes my photographer’s heart sing. This was most evident in their incredible first outfit choice. Sean went with a full Tuxedo and Grace wore a stunning, pale blue gown with gold floral details. I honestly can’t help but get James Bond vibes from these photos — see for yourself! I love how the formal elegance stands out in the beauty of Brainard Lake. Which brings me to my next point.

Brainard Lake is officially my favorite place to shoot in Colorado so far. I’ve photographed couples in several places since moving here in March, including Great Sand Dunes National Park! What Brainard lake has though is that classic, Colorado feel. The alpine lake, the towering mountains, and the evergreens — it all screams Colorado! It was especially beautiful this time of year with the shades of orange and yellow popping through in the bushes and trees. Fall in Colorado is just gorgeous. It’s no wonder this time has been my busiest yet!

Grace + Sean, you two are photographer’s dream. You’re sweet, adventurous, and you sure know how to dress! I can’t think of a better combination.
