Spring time is by far my favorite season for family sessions. Or any photo session, really. The weather is perfectly mild, the colors are bright & fresh, and everyone just has a lively energy about them — including me! Plus, there’s just nothing dreamier than flowers cascading overhead as we spend time together. They bring so much softness and whimsy to a photograph. For all of these reasons, this Spring Blossom Family Session is a favorite of mine, to date.

This family is pure gold. They’re friends of ours, and that beautiful Mama you see, Kylie, just so happens to be our personal family photographer. You can tell by how perfectly her family is styled! She is wearing one of my client wardrobe Lait Collection dresses, her husband is wearing a soft checkered button down and khakis, and her three sweet children are all in variations of white, cream and tan. Styling like this keeps the focus on the family and not on their clothes — just how I like it! In general, your eye goes first to the part of the photograph with the most contrast, which is a big reason why I alway recommend lighter hues for your family session styling.

In Colorado, the trees blossom in mid-late April. This session was on April 27, 2022 near Boulder, CO. I am counting the days until the trees bloom again for more Spring Blossom Family Sessions this year. It’s all up to mother nature when that will be though 😂
