You know those Instagram friends, the ones you talk to over the internet forever and wish you knew in person? Well, Angela is one of those for me. She and I have been chatting over Instagram for about a year, beginning back when I lived in Dallas. And as fate would have it, she lives in Colorado, where I moved to this year. So needless to say, I was excited to meet her in person for this family session in Mount Falcon Park.
Angela and Adam were married last year and welcomed their first baby, sweet Lucy, just four months ago. I was broken-hearted to hear that they were robbed of the opportunity to have maternity and newborn photos because of COVID-19. They joked that their house looks like a shrine to themselves because all they have displayed are wedding photos! Lucy was overdue for her moment in the spotlight and as you can see, she is one photogenic baby! She must have gotten it from her parents.
We met for their family session at Mount Falcon Park in Morrison, CO. It’s the perfect spot to get a large variety of Colorado landscapes. There are mountain views, lush sagebrush, evergreens, and Red Rocks Amphitheater as a backdrop. It’s easily accessible and walkable, too, which was perfect for this family with little one in tow. The only unpleasant site was a rattlesnake we came into contact with. It sat on the edge of the trail and rattled at me as I walked past it. Thankfully none of us got hurt, but it sure got our adrenaline going!
Angela and Adam, you were such a joy to spend the evening with. I had a blast getting to know you and capturing your sweet family. Lucy is precious beyond words and I love that I got to be the one to capture her in professional photos for the first time. I hope it isn’t the last time!
