Do you want to know something fun? This was the first wedding I shot as lead photographer. Thank goodness the Bride & Groom were a couple of my best friends, because I would have been a nervous wreck otherwise. The beauty of friendships like the one I have with these two is that they’d been rooting me on since day 1 of my photography career. They watched me change, make mistakes & grow as a photographer over that first year with such loving support that I could never deserve. I was so honored that they trusted me to capture their intimate outdoor vineyard wedding. You need friends like these!
Just as they watched me grow as a photographer, I watched them grow in love. I was with Jennifer at Bible Study the Wednesday after they first met. I saw her eyes light up as she explained over Chardonnay and a charcuterie board how sweet Preston was on their first date — even when she tripped in her new wedges not once, but three times. Their intimate vineyard wedding at Fortunata Winery was a culmination of all of those sweet memories that I heard each week over the next year. As I photographed Preston on their wedding day while he read the letter Jennifer wrote him, I saw in his eyes the same look she had in hers when she first told me about him.
As you pull in to Fortunata Winery, you feel like you’ve just been transported to Napa Valley — from the lush, green vineyard to the quaint stone patio illuminated with string lights — you’re certain you’re not in Texas anymore. Jennifer wore a clean and timeless Amsale gown and held a bouquet of white peonies adorned with a charm of her favorite Bible verse — Joshua 1:9. The tables were set on the stone patio with white linens, gold chargers, and fresh, white hydrangeas — keeping the cozy atmosphere inviting yet elevated as the guests shared laughs and their favorite memories with Jennifer & Preston. Bar or Brew was there, serving up the couple’s signature cocktails — an Old Fashioned (his) and a very refreshing Mojito (hers). The August Texas heat was no match for their closest friends & family who danced the night away under the string lights and stars.
Jenn and Pres, it was such a joy for me to witness the love you both have for each other and for your friends and family. I was honored to serve you and celebrate this milestone of your love. I can’t wait to be there for the next big milestones and all the little moments in between. I love you both to pieces!
Here are just a few of my many favorite captures!
